Our Farmers

Meet our farmers who love RYVITA® just as much as you.
Philip Chissell, Ryvita farmer

Philip Chissell

Name: Philip Chissell

Location: Wimborne

Philip started farming RYVITA® from the moment he picked up the tractor keys in 1988. His farming heritage on his current farm, right next to our bakery in Dorset, goes all the way back to 1870! In fact there have been four generations of Chissell’s at Cowgrove farm. Philip and his family have a habit of looking out for RYVITA®  when they are abroad and once found packet of Crispbread in a tiny shop in Swaziland – I wonder if it was Philip’s rye that went into that pack? Philip said his favourite RYVITA® is Sesame Seed Crispbread topped with just cheese as he loves the toasted notes he gets from the sesame seeds.

Michael Compton

Name: Michael Compton

Location: Biggleswade, Bedfordshire

Michael’s family have been farming for generations in Bedfordshire. His family now farms over 800 acres but his grandfather started out as a market gardener with just 50 acres! Michael still finds time to do his bit for the countryside, being part of the Countryside Stewardship Scheme for the past ten years, which is about the same amount of time he has been working with RYVITA®. We asked Michael what his favourite RYVITA® is, he told us:

‘I like Fruit Crunch because I have a bit of a sweet tooth and it goes well with a cup of tea in the morning! My wife is really into Salt and Vinegar RYVITA® Mini’s , she even takes them out in her handbag.
