It's official - playing football brings women closer together. A study from the University of Copenhagen compared women runners to women who played in a football team.
Researchers found that the women footie players had a greater level of 'social capital' - they made new friends and became more confident in their relationships with family and colleagues.
They also enjoyed the experience of playing in a team - and some even went on to join soccer groups after the study finished.

The same study investigated how regular football training helped women get fitter.
The soccer group's fitness and strength all increased after regular training sessions.
Plus, being part of a team made them more motivated to carry on playing and stay fit.
Soccer's also a great all-round exercise as it involves cardiovascular exercise which keeps the heart healthy, and strength training to keep your bones and muscles in great shape.
