Ham Hough & Lentil
A family favourite that is warm ,comforting and healthy using smoked ham, lentils and vegetables

Ingredients
- RYVITA® Cracked Black Pepper
- 250g red lentils
- ham hough (smoked ham on bone)
- approx 4 pints of water
- one large diced onion
- three diced carrots
- one diced small swede
- few chopped spinach leaves
- one ham stock cube
- salt & pepper
- i/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
Method
boil a ham hough and red lentils in water for about one hour, add onion, carrots, swede and spinach leaves, a ham stock cube. Simmer for about one to one and a half hours. Remove ham, add cayenne pepper and season soup with salt & pepper. Liquidise (optional). Shred ham from bone and add to soup.
