Tomato and Bean Hug in a Mug

This rich, warming hearty soup is just what you need when your stomach thinks you've forgotten where your mouth is - quick, filling and very , very nice.

RYVITA® Recipe

Ingredients

  • RYVITA® Pumpkin Seeds & Oats Crispbread
  • A tin of tomatoes
  • A tin of baked beans
  • 2 oz of ham pieces chopped into smallish chunks
  • Salt and Pepper
  • A dash of Worcester Sauce
  • An onion finely chopped
  • A tablespoon of oil

Method

Fry the onion in the oil until nearly golden, add the chopped ham and cook for a further minute. Add the baked beans, tomatoes, worcester sauce and seasoning to taste. Leave to simmer for 15 minutes if you can resist for that long.

    I have made a similar soup using a container of basic Tomato juice instead of the tomato pulp. I also added cooked mushrooms, marinated in soy sauce . I put beans, mushrooms and fried onions through the blender with the juice and added cooked(2 min high in microwave) sweetcorn and peas afterwards.
