We'd all love to spend hours relaxing but let's face it, retreating to a spa for days on end isn't practical for most of us! But it's surprising what a big difference small ways of refreshing yourself can make...
Try a five-minute meditation. Find somewhere quiet, like a bathroom. Sit down, close your eyes and think about where you are naturally at your most peaceful - it could be a sandy beach in Barbados, or it could be at home in your bed! Picture that peaceful place in your mind. Think about every detail - how it looks, how it sounds, even how it smells! After five minutes, open your eyes - you'll feel refreshed and happy.
Take a computer break. It's easy to feel as if you're suffering from ‘information overload' when yet another email pings into your inbox. Just getting away from your screen and taking a short walk will help you calm down.
Make a list - it's great for clearing your mind and helping you prioritise. Divide your tasks into two simple categories - essential and non-essential. Then put aside the non-essential items and number the essential items in order of priority.
Have a drink - of water, that is! If you're well hydrated, you'll be more alert, less tired and more able to concentrate. To keep an eye on how much you're drinking, fill up a half-litre bottle in the morning and carry it with you. Aim to have finished it by the end of the day.
Have an instant spa to hand. If you carry refreshing skin wipes, facial spray and a hand-held fan in your handbag, you'll be sure of giving yourself a lift wherever you are.

ReportA half-hour walk, preferably in our beautiful countryside, is the best de-stresser I know of!

ReportThe computer break is a really good suggestion - it's easy to get hypnotised by technology and not notice how long you've been working. I set an alarm for 45 mins and make sure I stretch my arms and legs, and have a quick slurp of water!
