Why do you love the great outdoors?
I never feel fresher or more alive anywhere else. I love being outside & going for long walks - being in the fresh air really clears your mind. Even in the rain, there’s something very satisfying about being outdoors, as long as I’m wrapped up well in waterproofs.
What is your favourite countryside memory?
My best countryside memory has to be camping in the Lake District when I was small. Every night before going to sleep, all you could hear was bird song (and the occasional sheep!). As a result, now whenever I hear woodpigeons, I automatically get very sleepy. A slight inconvenience in the summer!
What makes a perfect picnic?
Picnics always taste fantastic after you’ve just done a long walk to earn them! Being a bit of a cake fiend, for me the perfect picnic would have definitely have to have lots of sweet things. Scones, jam & clotted cream would have to be the ideal accompanied with sunny weather. I’m also rather partial to RYVITA® Fruit Crunch when on the move or as a snack beforehand.
What plans do you have to make the most of the outdoors this year?
I spend most of my time outdoors either on foot or in a boat so that’s the way I’ll spend the rest of the year. I’m always outdoors at the weekend as I’m a rower; come rain or shine, I’ll be on the river with my local boat club. On a warm summer’s day with the river to yourself, you really can’t beat it.
This year, I’m also hoping to walk some of the South West Coast Path. It’s a long term ambition to walk the whole 630 mile route, so step by step this summer I should be getting closer to completing it.

ReportThe best experience well, the hot weather and me comming down with the chicken pox, we used to stay every year in a place called Ladram Bay its still revisited by the family, and we will never forget our lemon sole being eaten by birds in the middle of the night, and our lab sleeping in the car . The old games of tin can lurky with other friends, it was a sought place very friendly and still going with its private beach, cockling on the rocks, and the dingy and boats on the stones. Not to forget bingo every night and the karaoke and dancing to live bands

ReportWe used to spend our summers camping in Scandinavia when I was young - one evening we were lost in the Norwegian mountains. It was August and a lovely summers evening - we were getting higher and higher with every bend in the road and no sign of the campsite! Eventually we came across a climbers shack and my parents decided it would be safer to bed down there for the night. As I snuggled into my sleeping bag (the nights were cold) I watched my parents trying to clean the melted butter off all rest of the camping stuff when the lights went out and we were plunged into darkness.Lots of muttering later and we were all in our sleeping bags. In the morning we woke to a covering of snow!!! Not what we had expected in August and we were glad we weren't in the tent that night! We went back down to lower ground for the rest of our time there - just in case!!

ReportMy most memorable camping memory was during a camping trip to the Cairngorms with school friends. The weather was so bad that we could barely see in front of our noses, one night we couldn't find anywhere flat to camp so had to pitch the tent on a hill and we kept sliding down to the bottom of the tent, one night we woke up with the canvas on our faces as it was so windy the tent had blown down and another night the tent flooded! All in all it was pretty funny!

ReportAs a child I remember arriving late at night to an unmown field at my Uncle's pub. We pitched the tent on a slope in the dark. It rained all night and in the morning we'd all rolled off our airbeds and were piled up against my Dad, with a small stream running under us.
