    • Where can I buy RYVITA® products?

Most of the big supermarkets stock our products (Tesco, Morrisons, Sainsburys, Waitrose, Ocado, Asda and Coop). Although we would love every single one of their stores to have all of our products on their shelves – unfortunately they are simply not able to do this.

If you are looking to find if your local store stocks your favourite Ryvita product, we would recommend calling their Customer Service team directly as they will hopefully have more information they can share with you. All the numbers you should need are listed below.

      Asda - 0800 952 0101

    • Does RYVITA® contain gluten?

      All Ryvita products contain Gluten.

Gluten is found in grains such as wheat, rye, oats and barley, and all of our products contain at least one of these cereals.

Gluten is known to cause inflammation of the gastrointestinal tract in 0.5-1% of the population. This condition is known as Coeliac Disease and the only treatment is a strict gluten-free diet. For further information on Coeliac Disease and gluten-free diets, please contact:

    • Do RYVITA® products contain wheat?

Wheat flour is the primary ingredient RYVITA® Thins, RYVITA® Crackerbread and also appears in RYVITA®Fruit Crunch Crispbread and RYVITA® Crackers. Sufferers of wheat allergy or intolerance should avoid these products.

RYVITA® Cream Cheese & Chive Minis contain tiny amounts of wheat ingredients. These should be avoided by those diagnosed with a wheat allergy.

All other RYVITA® products are made with rye, in a bakery where wheat flour is also used. We therefore advise that RYVITA® may contain tiny traces of wheat flour and anyone with a serious diagnosed wheat allergy should avoid RYVITA® products, just to be safe.

Wheat allergy or intolerance are pretty uncommon in the UK and excluding Coeliac Disease affect only 0.1% of the population. If you have any concerns regarding the above we recommend that you visit your GP who will be best placed to offer advice based on your particular circumstance.

    • Are RYVITA® products suitable for vegetarians?

All our products can be eaten by vegetarians.

    • Does RYVITA® contain Palm Oil?

The only product in our range which currently contains palm oil is our Multi-Seed Thins. We use a blend of 100% Certified Sustainable Palm Oil. Our ultimate intention is to remove palm oil altogether from this product in the not too distant future.

    • Does RYVITA® contain any genetically modified ingredients?

We do not use any genetically modified ingredients within any of our Ryvita products.

Ryvita is the largest purchaser of British grown rye, which we mill ourselves at our facilities in Poole, Dorset. We have a network of British farmers who can grow all the rye we need to a very high quality standard

    • Which RYVITA® products are Kosher Certified?

All of our Crispbread range is Kosher certified by as KLBD.

KLBD stands for Kashrut of the London Beth Din. We are annually audited and certified by the London Beth Din.

    • Why are my RYVITA® Thins Broken?

We designed and developed Ryvita Thins to be a certain size, shape and texture to deliver the unique crunch and snap that we know our consumers love. In order to achieve this, the product needs to be fragile and is therefore subject to the risk of breaking during the supply chain.

      Breakages can happen due to:

      1. The development of hairline cracks during the baking process.

      2. Damage to the product during transit, storage and handling.

We have been working very hard to resolve both of these issues. Last year we strengthened the cardboard packaging and also the case used to transport the product to stores. Most recently we improved the inner tray, introducing a new shape and ridges to the bottom of the tray. We have also been working hard on some further packaging updates for 2016, so watch this space!

    • Why does it look like someone has taken a bite out of my RYVITA® Crispbread?

During the dimpling process (the process which gives the Ryvita it’s well known appearance), the bread may be thinner in places, and once it’s baked it can sometimes break in a circular pattern. This may give the impression that a bite was taken out of the slice, however we can assure you that this is not the case!

The slices do go through an inspection where operators on the line remove any damaged or broken slices. Due to the high volume of it is not easy to pick out every single one.

  • New Lunch Packs

    • Why have you put Crispbread into Lunch Packs and cartons?

We love to hear feedback from our consumers, and last year we introduced the “tapeseal” format that allowed you to tidily wrap up your pack, as well as help to keep the product a bit fresher.  We received some great feedback for this innovation and we’re always on the look out for ways we can make the packaging even better.

We have received lots of feedback recently from our consumers that they would love to be able to take their favourite Crispbread to work or out with them, without having to wrap up a few slices in foil or take the whole pack to the office.  That’s why we created the Lunch packs – smaller packs that you can pop in your lunchbox or (carefully) in your handbag and take out and about with you.

Even if you don’t want to take your Crispbread out of home with you, the other benefit of the new packaging is that it stores much more tidily in your cupboards at home.  A square, sturdy cardboard box with smaller packs inside.  If you tend to make your pack last a few weeks, then you don’t need to worry about the product going stale after opening the pack, as you will have lots of individual packs.

    • Will they cost more?

We haven’t changed the price that we recommend to our retailers*.  Our RSP (Recommended selling price)* is still £1.59 despite the increased packaging value and convenience.  It is at the discretion of the retailers whether they increase or decrease pricing, so you might find some changes in your local store.  This is unlikely to be due to the change in packaging though, and could be related to their own pricing strategy or in store promotions that have been agreed.

    • Why have some packs got 5 lunch packs and some got 4 lunch packs?

Because of the way our Crispbreads are made, some of our variants are heavier and thicker than others (e.g. Pumpkin seed is a heavier and thicker product than Sweet Onion due to the seeds on top).  We wanted to ensure that we kept roughly the same weight for your money as previously, which means that for the thicker, heavier, seeded crispbreads you have 16 biscuits, and for the lighter, thinner flavoured crispbreads you have 20.

    • Why have you only changed some of the flavours?

Eventually we are likely to do this on most of our Crispbread products, but due to capacity constraints in the early stages, we decided to focus on our premium products first.

    • Why isn't Fruit Crunch in lunch packs?

Fruit Crunch tends to be eaten more as a snack with a cup of tea or with a chocolate spread and fruit.  Therefore we didn’t think our consumers would want to have 4 slices in a pack.  We will be looking to develop new packaging for Fruit Crunch in time, so thank you for your feedback.

We can appreciate that this may be disappointing and we will always make the team in charge of our tins aware of requests outside of the UK. This way they are made aware of the potential demand, which may result in our tins offer changing in the future.
